International bursary for local agricultural journalist

Agri Connect is proud to announce that Liza Burger, journalist of the monthly magazine, The Dairy Mail, is one of the winners of the IFAJ-Alltech Young Leaders in Agricultural Journalism bursary.

Included in the bursary is an award for €1 000 and a sponsorship to attend the 54th congress of the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists, IFAJ, which will be held from 12-21 April in Oostende, Belgium.

Ten agricultural journalists from around the world have been selected to receive the bursary. Burger is the only African journalist on the list. The other winners are from Germany, Spain, Ireland, Slovenia, Serbia, Argentina, Canada, Finland and the United Kingdom.

The bursary is presented by IFAJ and the international biotechnology company, Alltech. Agricultural journalists younger than 35 years and from the IFAJ member countries, are eligible to enter the competition. South Africa's Agricultural Writers Guild nominated Burger as their candidate.
