WordPress Developer

Our company is looking for a WordPress developer, with the following criteria:

A WordPress developer who can create bespoke themes from scratch using minimal plugins. Please note that page builder plugins do not qualify.

Skills involved, at least at intermediate level of knowledge:

• WordPress CMS and WordPress API
• JavaScript and JQuery
• PHP
• CSS
• HTML
• The developer must be able to accurately follow designs and create intended functionality.

We would like to assess your approach and skills through a small test project. Please build a custom WordPress theme based on the provided XD design (link below), adhering strictly to the following requirements:

Project Guidelines

• Build the design as a zipped-up custom WordPress theme.
• Use a minimalist development approach.
• Make use of the ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) plugin for custom field creation. Please include the custom fields as an export.
• The theme must be bespoke — write all code yourself.
• Important: Please note that the use of page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery), AI-generated code, or pre-built themes is strictly not allowed. We are looking for clean, bespoke code built from the ground up.
• Ensure the build matches the design exactly, including layout, spacing, and styling.
• Include page content as an XML export that can be imported via the WordPress admin.
• Use your own CSS class naming, based on your interpretation of the layout and structure.
