Record number of live feeds for sporting channel

This past weekend, SuperSport had a record number of 151 live sports feeds being received - 69 standard definition and 16 high definition from the Beijing Olympic Games and 66 other standard definition feeds during the course of Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There has been extensive live coverage of the Games on SuperSport, with seven channels - SS 5, SS Gold (6), SS 7, MaXimo, MaXimo 2, SS Extra (channel 198) and SS Extra 2 (channel 199). DStv last week also launched the HD channel (170 on DStv) and there is blanket coverage of the Olympics on this new platform.
