What girls really want
According to a recent survey, www.sweet16.co.za found that 37.2% of South African girls aged 12 - 24 browse the Internet for a few hours each day, with 17.4% checking in at least once a day and 38.1% a few times a week. With more households now having broadband connections, 47.1% have access from home, and 10.7% are wired for access at school. Topics in order of popularity are music, clothing and fashion items, beauty, mp3 players and cell phones, movies, surfing the web, teen magazines, celebrity gossip, love and dating, and sports. Only 7.4% use the Internet for research purposes only.
