United Virtualities, a New York online ad technology firm, has developed a product that will allow advertisers to automatically change the appearance of web browsers, enabling sponsor logos and buttons to be placed in the traditionally grey areas. The firm states that to mitigate the intrusiveness of the new technoglogy surfers will always be offered the clear option of turning off the application.
