AOL Time Warner chairman quits
Steve Case has resigned as chairman of AOL Time Warner. He had come under severe criticism for the record merger of America Online and Time Warner, creating the world's largest media company worth $106.2 billion. Investors maintained that the deal did not deliver on its promise to supercharge growth by marrying old and new media. Stock had fallen 70% since the merger in January 2001.
