Mbeki, editors meet over media issues
Yesterday, Sunday, 18 June 2007, at a meeting in Pretoria, President Thabo Mbeki, senior cabinet ministers and a delegation of editors “tackled key legislative issues affecting media freedom and also dealt with government's concern at the credibility and reliability of the media,” reports Business Day. One of the major issues discussed was the controversial revised Film and Publications Bill, which SANEF described on Friday 15 June, as "unconstitutional and deeply flawed", according to the Mail & Guardian Online.
