Idols outstrips Big Brother
According to the latest figures from Transmit (TELMAR), Idols' ARs on its launch date of 10 March 2002, outstripped those of the Big Brother finale on 9 December, 2001. Against a target market of All A-Income Adults, Idols achieved 12.7 and Big Brother 12.4. Against the same target market, the Big Brother launch programme on 26 August 2001 achieved ARs of 10.7, while the UK finale of Pop Idol on 3 March, 2002 gained 13.6.
