New weekly newspaper for the Eastern Cape
The Eastern Cape is to get a new weekly newspaper aimed at communities in Port Elizabeth, Uitenhage and Despatch. Entitled Ilizwi, The Voice of the People, it will be published by Johnnic and will retail at R1 through 100 selected outlets, as well as being inserted free on Wednesdays for subscribers in the Nelson Mandela Metropole of The Herald, the largest daily newspaper in the city. The paper will be edited by Goodwin Makongolo.
