Journalists Alet Rademeyer from the Beeld and Anastasia de Vries of Rapport have both been awarded H.B Thom awards by the Federation for Afrikaans culture associations (FAK) for outstanding investigative reporting. Rademeyer has also been commended by Unitech for her reporting on higher education and was named as the Beeld Journalist of the Year for 2004.
