Prominent journalists pass on
Veteran journalist and regional director of the Federation of African Media Women, Jennifer Makunike-Sibanda, died while on a visit to the United Kingdom last week. Makunike-Sibanda died aged 49 after a long battle against breast cancer and was buried on Sunday in Harare.
Well-known South African journalist and media correspondent, Joe Molefi, died in Maseru, Lesotho on Monday, aged 73, reportedly of a heart attack. During the anti-apartheid struggle Molefi went into exile in Lesotho in the early sixties before becoming a correspondent for several South African and international media organisations.
