Capital Media show sound business productivity
On Tuesday, 31 August 2010, the annual SA Productivity Awards (KZN) shortlisted Pietermaritzburg's Capital Media Group (CMG) - publishers of Public Eye, Maritzburg Sun and Edendale Eyethu, owners of marketing and ad agency MediaCom SA and direct distribution business Capital Distribution - as finalists. The group ended as a runner-up, testament to its success over the past 10 years in growing from a two-man operation in 1999, to an employer of 100 permanent staff and around 120 temporary workers. The company also has a joint venture with Caxton CTP and has invested in the multimillion rand newspaper printing plant in Camps Drift trading as Guardian Web.
