Twist movie reaches 1000 pledges

Independent doccie, short film and commercial producer/director, Tim Greene, is tackling his first full length feature film, an adaptation of Oliver Twist to the streets of Cape Town. Last year he put out a call that he was looking for 1000 investors who each had R1,000.00 to risk to finance shooting the film. In this way he hoped to raise a million bucks, with the risk spread between a thousand like-minded people. On 14th May 2003 this first part of a life long dream came true - 837 individuals and companies made 1000 pledges. These are the Champions of Independent film in South Africa. Production is slated for September 2003.
