ASA rules on Capitec complaint by FNB

The Advertising Standard Authority (ASA) has ruled that Capitec should immediately withdraw assertions that it has the lowest bank charges, which FNB welcomes, as it had earlier this year lodged a complaint with the advertising body that Capitec's claim that one of its banking products had the lowest bank charges was misleading. FNB provided the ASA with evidence that its own EasyPlan Account was in most cases cheaper or priced at an equivalent transaction rate to the Capitec account.
