Cape Quarter's winter Fashion Focus
A sunny winter Saturday morning brought some of Cape Town's most fashion conscious people together at the Glass Box overlooking the Square in the new Cape Quarter, where restaurants below buzzed while patrons sipped coffee and watched models strut their stuff in designs from Pierre Louis The Art of Dressing.
Classical day and evening wear in linens, silk, silk chiffon, silk satin and silk dupion brought applause for designer Pierre Louis Geldenhuys. The shop offers both ready-to-wear and made-to-order garments. Models were accessorised with sunglasses from Extreme Eyewear, footwear from Giovanna Shoes, unique jewellery creations, freeRange Jewels.
With assorted fashion sandwiches and chicken, mushroom and leek mini pies from Lazari Restaurant providing something deliciously substantial to nibble on, guests with a sweet tooth delighted in Emporio Leone's signature Madagascan vanilla bean meringues, brownies with chocolate ganache topping, mini chocolate ganache tartlets and white chocolate cupcakes while sipping Douglas Green sparkling wine.
The event was MC'd by Shado Twala, who admitted to having several items designed by Geldenhuys in her entertainer's closet.
