Shape/Sanex Cover Look Competition
A 28-year-old personal trainer and model, Vanessa Hayward, has been named this year's Shape/Sanex Cover Look Competition winner. While blessed with classic beauty queen good looks, it was her passion for healthy living, her maturity and her charm that secured her the unanimous judges' vote.
Vanessa studied chiropractic medicine but has now swapped her office for the outdoors and is training to compete in an international fitness competition. She also recently completed the gruelling Pick 'n Pay/Cape Argus cycle race.
The Shape/Sanex Cover Look Competition seeks women who embrace a healthy lifestyle, who are positive, confident and mature. A healthy, glowing skin is essential. A combination of family values and spiritual contentment is also important. She is an inspiration to others.
Now in its third year, the competition drew hundreds of entries from across the country. Eight finalists then spent two days at Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa in the Western Cape where they were put through a bootcamp, adventure race, and several additional physical and mental challenges before finally appearing before the panel of judges for formal questions.
Vanessa wins a holiday for two at Rani resorts' gorgeous Pemba Beach Hotel and Spa, and beautiful Matemo island resort in Mozambique, valued at R50 000; a Samsung D900 phone valued at R3000; hampers from Pharmaton, Sanex, and Ford; a 12-month subscription to Shape; plus a year's Virgin Active premier membership and a possible 12-month contract with Sanex as their brand ambassador.
