The African Tails 2010 calendar launch

Pedigree is the proud sponsor of this year's calendar which features photographs by Josie Borain and hand-painted props by Paul du Toit, as well as 13 of the greatest African folk tales and 27 of Cape Town's most gorgeous rescue mutts with inspiring tales of their own.

VIP celebrities, media guests and members of the public celebrated with Pedigree and African Tails at the calendar launch cocktail party which featured entertainment by Alan Committee as MC and live music by Lonesome Dave.

Claremart's auctioned a sculpture especially created for the event by Paul du Toit to raise money for the African Tails charity.

The objective of African Tails is to save Cape Town's street dogs by facilitating quarterly mass sterilisations and continuously rescuing and caring for neglected animals. Pedigree is supporting African Tails for the second year because their ethos resonates Pedigree's vision to do everything it can to help dogs live life to the fullest, and its belief that every dog deserves a loving home. Pedigree is also donating food on a continuous basis to assist feeding the rescued dogs and ensuring they get the balanced nutrition they need.
