Return of the scam
Oh, apparently I've filled out a survey at some petrol garage, but "the entry form doesn't say where." Mmm. And the prize is guaranteed, anything from R10 000, washing machines, you name it. I ask for her number, she gives me her cell. I demand a landline, which answers to TAG Marketing.
It's the oldest trick in the book, I know. A quick survey in the office revealed the scam (more than half of my colleagues have been called) and a further search on trusty old Google confirmed it.
What really blows my mind, is how the operator can blatantly lie about the fact that I've won, when clearly this is not the case. Who is dishing out our cellphone numbers and how do we stop this?
