Tajikistan attacks cellphone usage
Authorities in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, tore down banner advertisements for cellular service providers yesterday as part of a campaign to discourage reliance on cellphones, in a move that has baffled the central Asian nation's operators.
Efforts to reduce the visibility of cellular network operators have been accompanied by a blitz of clips on state television warning viewers about the potential health hazards of using cellphones.
