Oasys adds flair to Decorex 2009
Close to 52 000 visitors experienced 650 exhibits of the latest trends, spread over four halls. DIY enthusiasts had plenty of activities at their disposal to sharpen their skills while keen-but-penny-wise home owners eagerly listened to talks on how to execute a successful makeover on a tight budget.
Says Carl Woodland, chief operating officer of Oasys Exhibitions: “This year's exhibition saw an impressive growth of 25 % in attendance, proving the interest that many South Africans have in decor and design offerings. A contributing factor for the greater number of people attending the exhibition was the fact that the event went ‘green' this year. With greening and environmental conservation becoming increasingly important consideration when decorating and designing a home, it was spaces were eager to explore and consider ‘greener' options.”
“We supplied a total of 2010m² of shell scheme and 19000m² of carpets for the show. All electrical infrastructure was supplied by our Electrical division. The show has been a sensation for the past sixteen years and Oasys is proud to be a partner to a show of this calibre,” says Woodland.
Decorex brings a unique blend of the emerging and the established manufacturers and suppliers, both large and small to the public. Trade professionals and consumers were able indulge in the latest trends in decor and design in South Africa.
