Retraction and apology to Daily Sun and editor-in-chief Themba Khumalo
The article was subsequently proven to have contained factual errors which were derogatory and defamatory of the newspaper and its outgoing editor-in-chief.
Bizcommunity has retracted the story and hereby apologises unreservedly for its error of judgment in this matter.
The on-demand service of Issa Sikiti da Silva has been temporarily suspended, pending the resolution of the matter.
Bizcommunity understands the damage that this article has caused the Daily Sun brand and its outgoing editor-in-chief, Themba Khumalo, and we unreservedly apologise for this.
We will ensure that, in future, due process is followed and will endeavour to approach Daily Sun for comment in all future reporting regarding the publication and Themba Khumalo.
Errors entered the story at the foundation phase and also escaped the normally rigorous editing procedure. An internal investigation is underway.
