Samsung launches #SocialStar competition
Samsung has launched a #SocialStar Search that aims to identify the next big thing on social media. The competition embodies the group's vision to help people create the lives they have always dreamed of and realise their passions and potential using its products.
Samsung has partnered with former Miss South Africa, media entrepreneur, model and international speaker Jo-Ann Strauss, as a judge to find a social star to take centre stage. She will be judging entries along with Instagram guru, Gareth Pon; Samsung executive, Michelle Potgieter and actress and TV presenter, Minnie Dlamini.
Hopefuls can enter by posting a short video with the hashtag #SocialStar and tag @SamsungSA telling what they think gives them the 'X-factor' on various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or YouTube. The competition closes on 31 Oct 2015.
Entries that receive the most likes and retweets will qualify as the top 10 #SocialStar finalists and the judges will choose the top three to go to Mauritius from 12-15 November with the judges to compete in a series of exciting challenges.
This will culminate in the finale where the new, up and coming #SocialStar will be chosen. The winner receives prizes from Samsung and Horizon Holidays and a three-month online mentorship programme from Jo-Ann Strauss.
