Mossel Bay hosts elGourmet.com food show
Director of the elGourmet.com shoot of meals in Mossel Bay, Julio Hormaeche, said that the food show would be broadcast to the entire South and Central American regions, where 16 million people subscribe to the show. Hormaeche said that his company would probably produce two episodes about Mossel Bay, “because it's a very rich place and it offers a lot of things for our shows." [video]
The show, described as the South American equivalent of BBC Food, filmed Stonehill Restaurant's executive chef, Tim Casten, cooking for Argentine celebrity chef Pablo Massey and videoed a typical South African braai at the home of Stonehill's owner, Allan Robertson.
“The significance of shows like this is immense because they showcase the town and the region in ways that we could never afford,” said Mossel Bay Tourism's Marcia Holm. “The series will give a huge boost to our South-South Strategy, which is designed to build bridges between the people of Mossel Bay and the Mercosur countries.”
