HD SuperSport on DStv

The additional high definition (HD) channel on DStv will be launched on 26 December 2009, to coincide with the start of the cricket Test match between South Africa and England, MultiChoice announced yesterday, Wednesday, 2 December 2009.

Thereafter, at various occasions, the HD sports programming will include the best of the English Premier League, La Liga football and US PGA golf.

SuperSport will then go 'live' with a 24-hour HD sport channel called SuperSport HD from 12 February, the starting date of the Vodacom Super 14 rugby tournament. The top sports events available in HD will be broadcast on the channel.

It will be available to Premium bouquet DStv subscribers on channel 171 for those who have HD-capable decoders.
