South African National Parks (SANParks) says it has received a donation from the SANParks Honorary Rangers and Latest Sightings, a website where the public can share sightings of animals seen in the park.

The donations were handed over at the Phalaborwa Gate in the Kruger National Park (KNP) on Saturday 2 February to assist those affected by the recent floods.

SANParks Honorary Rangers (HR's) co-ordinated the efforts of Latest Sightings to gather clothes, food and sanitary items for staff members who lost their personal belongings during the floods.

Nadav Ossendryver (16), the founder of Latest Sightings said: "I was so moved by the flood photos that the community sent to my website that I felt I had to do something to help the SANParks employees."

The donations were collected at King David's High School Linksfield. The Land Rover Owners Club Southern Africa helped transport the donations to KNP.

Several schools were involved including King David School Linksfield, Crawford College, Saheti School, Yeshiva College, Dainfern College and the Torah Academy School.
