Automotive industry strike underway
The assembly line workers went on strike after negotiations between the National Union of Metalworkers of SA, (Numsa) and the seven largest car manufacturers deadlocked in their negotiations.
The union was demanding a 14% increase. Employers have reportedly offered increases of between 7.5% and 8.5%.
