Conference speakers interrogated - The African Marketing Show with the Sunday Times

If you're tired of the regular run of the mill death by power-point conferences and of a keynote speaker who's retreading the same tired old argument then you might want to book for the African Marketing Show on Wednesday June 8.
Conference speakers interrogated - The African Marketing Show with the Sunday Times

In association with The Sunday Times broadcasters Chris Gibbons and Bruce Whitfield will question, grill and interrogate a line-up of top business thinkers in a simulated studio environment. The guests will be probed on:

  • their marketing/business approach
  • strategy formulation and implementation
  • problem solving and output measurability

  • personal motivation

The event at the central Wanderers Club in Johannesburg is being organised by marketing solutions company The Future Group and MD Richard Lendrum says: "We thought it was high time to break the mould and take conferencing in a new direction. Our key interviewers are undisputedly the two top business and current affairs interviewers in the country and will extract maximum value from their guests. Not only will the event be a day of entertainment, but the information will be invaluable to anyone who is managing a brand in this post-recessionary environment."

Among the interviewees are Crispin Sonn from Old Mutual and Sarah-Anne Orphanides from Standard Bank who will look at how the current marketing model needs to adapt and change for a developing continent. Three of the country's top digital marketing experts Brent Shahim - aquaonline, Barry Sayer - Continental Outdoor Media and Jason Xenopoulos - Native will discuss how to use a variety of new media platforms to hook and keep customers.

And for a first time sharing the same stage arch rivals Vodacom and MTN will go head go head to head debating the subject Price vs. Brand: Are customers in a post-recession economy still brand-loyal or slaves to specials and pushed to purchase by price?

In total there are nine hard-hitting interview sessions and the day promises to be exhilarating and exhausting. Marcia Minnaar at the Future Group is managing the bookings on az.oc.evitcaten@aicraM.
