It's summer time and the tourist campaigns are shining

Some of Cape Town's top tourist attractions and organisations - including V&A Waterfront, Goldcircle, Cape Town Routes Unlimited and Cape Town Tourism - have teamed up to present a combined summer campaign for the upcoming holiday season to showcase events all over the Mother City throughout the festive period.
It's summer time and the tourist campaigns are shining

Entitled, simply enough, Cape Town Summer, the campaign will launch on 28 November 2008 with its own website, www.capetownsummer.co.za, to provide holidaying Capetonians and visitors to the city a convenient one-stop online spot to keep track of the multitude of events that will form part of holiday celebrations throughout the Peninsula. Apart from events, this multifaceted campaign will also include various marketing initiatives including print, radio, outdoor and television.

The campaign will launch at the V&A Waterfront. In addition, the website will highlight the majority of the entertainment and leisure activities that the city has to offer, provide tips on safety for residents and visitors and showcase the hidden gems of the city that doesn't always appear in tourist brochures or get sufficient attention in the media.

Among the events directly organised by the campaign will be various family fun days and a sponsored Race day at Kenilworth. The latter will take place on 12 December.

14 December will mark the first date of a host of family fun days with a Christmas Party. These events are aimed at getting families outdoors to enjoy the summer sun and are set to expel for good memories of a stormy and turbulent winter. The final two events on 27 December and 3 January are perfect for packing in the last of the Christmas and New Year's leftovers and making a picnic of it.

Businesses and other tourism organisations are invited to join in the Cape Town Summer Campaign and to take their summer campaign just so much further this year. The Cape Town Summer campaign was birthed by and will be managed by Rani Communications. For more information, email .
