Beefing up Jo'burg tourism marketing
As part of its mandate to proactively promote both business and leisure tourism to the central Johannesburg hub, the Johannesburg Tourism Company embarked upon an aggressive marketing campaign and is currently strengthening its marketing muscle. 2005 saw the appointment of marketing manager Hapiloe Sello and now, just six months later, Kabo Langa has joined the JTC team as the new marketing co-ordinator.

Kabo Langa's joining in April has brought passion and motivation to the team. She was schooled at St. Theresa's Convent and later studied media liaison at Boston City Campus. She has recently started a part time course at AAA School of Advertising in order to further her spread of knowledge.
Enthuses Langa, "I'm so excited about this opportunity because I'm very passionate about Johannesburg, having lived here all my life. I hope to learn more about the city and assist in marketing it in the best way possible."
Apart from driving key positioning and awareness of initiatives both locally and internationally. Langa is playing an integral role in promoting the newly established Soweto Tourism Information Centre - one of the first key projects embarked upon by JTC this year in expanding domestic domestic tourism growth in Soweto, and selling and raising the occupancy rate of bed and breakfasts and related tourist sectors in Soweto, Alexandra and other townships.
In her spare time, Kabo reads as much as possible. She enjoys books that focus on metaphysics, conspiracy theories and the odd fantasy novel that have all added a different perspective to the way she looks at life.
"I love a good challenge and always welcome an opportunity to learn," concludes Kabo.
