Founded in Turin in Italy 60 years ago, Estetica has grown to be a leading trade publication published in 22 countries.
The launch issue will feature a spirited dinner debate between SA's top style personalities, including – trends analyst Dion Chang and makeup artist Gillian Lentin, who discuss the impact of international trends on SA. The issue will also features the 2007 Afro collection of British hairstylist Errol Douglas in the Ethnic Hair section for black South African women.
“We did research on the local market and found out that the market needs a trade publication of this nature, and then we approached the Italian head office. They provided us with the formula for success,” Cathryn Henderson of Topco Media, the managing editor for Estetica, told Bizcommunity.com
“We will select trends from overseas with what relates locally, provide inspiration to anybody who owns or works in a salon. Estetica will provide a much needed resource for local hair enthusiasts. The layout is designed in a way that it appeals to a consumer also,” says Henderson.
Estetica worldwide publisher and director Roberto Pissimiglia says, “After many years of serving the African continent through the Estetica World edition, we realised there is enormous potential of the South African coiffure sector. Already available in over 60 countries, we are proud of the birth of Estetica South Africa, the 22nd edition of our international network, created in collaboration with SA publishing house Topco Media.
A launch distribution of over 10 000 copies will be available from Friday 25 January in hair salons and selected retailers nationwide.
