News24's Trench digs into TMG

Trench joined 24.com last year from The Witness in KZN.

Trench told staff the departure wasn't planned, solicited or reflective of his feelings about 'the 24 family'.

According to Andreij Horn, acting head at 24.com, a strong channel editor for News24 will be appointed soon but they won't necessarily fill the editor-in-chief position again as it is a print legacy construct.

As digital editor at TMG, Trench will drive the digital content strategy across the Group's titles such as TimesLive, SowetanLive, and BDLive, amongst others. He began his career as a reporter for their Sunday Times in 1995.
