New site summarises SENS announcements

ShareNews.co.za has officially launched a new website news service that summarises daily SENS announcements. Short summary articles are posted on the site, based on SENS announcements and then immediately tweeted. A news email update goes out at 11am each morning, giving a review of the morning's announcements.

"Most SENS statements contain legal and accounting information that is complex, long and sometimes difficult to understand. The focus of the website is to simplify SENS newsfeeds for users, investors, analysts and journalists, giving a quick overview of the announcements that are posted on the site soon after the SENS feed," said ShareNews director, Charles Smith.

"The website is designed to be simple and user friendly, appealing to users who have limited time to read daily JSE SENS announcements. Studies show that users are interested in short chunks of information and do not have time to read long articles. The average consumer visits over 2500 different websites per year, which is a huge amount of content."
