Chins up for real-world to digital engagement

The real-world to digital engagement loop is absolutely pivotal to campaign success in the food and beverage industry. Great apps are only as great as the in-store engagement they offer, and vice-versa; the in-store experience should drive back to a digital touch point, offering longevity to the overall brand experience. That is why So Interactive went to work getting chins up, both digitally and in the real world, for Ocean Basket and the beachhouse wine's new Greek madness campaign.

"We wanted the customers to capture themselves having fun and being a little crazy at their favourite Ocean Basket. To do that we had them submit "mad chin selfies" as the perfect mechanism to drive engagement and user generated content, bridging the real world and digital. The secret to the success of that bridge has been offering customers the opportunity to express their madness." shares Darren Mansour, Digital Director at So Interactive.

To get that madness going the So Interactive creative team came up with a stack of crazy chin postcards for selfie inspiration. The selfies are uploaded to a gallery app which is specifically designed for mobile, allowing for immediate engagement whilst sitting at the table. Once their mad selfie has been uploaded customers are then able to share it with friends, asking them to vote for their picture, creating excellent buzz and ongoing engagement with the brand. Customers who are voted into the top 50 selfies list will be entered into a lucky draw for a seven night stay at a Club Med in Greece. Something definitely worth getting crazy about.

Entries and overall engagement are on track to exceed the KPI's set out by Ocean Basket and there have certainly been some mad selfies getting the votes. When it comes to closing the digital to real world loop, So Interactive has definitely gotten the chin-chin for Ocean Basket.
