AMF calls for new members, applications close June 30

The Advertising Media Forum (AMF) is urging media professionals practicing within South Africa to join its ranks to provide additional weight and credibility to its standing within the industry.

Membership is open to all media professionals employed by traditional agencies, specialist agencies, brand owners or strategic consultancies etc but media owners and their representatives cannot become members. Applications close on June 30 this year.

According to AMF Chair, Joanne Scholtz, the AMF plays an important role in the country's marketing communication industry by providing a platform to promote acceptable standards and practices in the media industry as well as transparent and justifiable sales polices, pricing strategies and transactions amongst media owners.

She added that the organisation encourages and empowers new talent and leaders from amongst those responsible for the planning and purchasing of media, to take an active role in steering our industry into the future. Another critical area is transformation of the industry by removing any discriminatory practices within the profession and attracting new talent from previously disadvantaged communities.

"The AMF endeavours to encourage professional practices through a strong constitution, members' code of conduct and committee responsible for ethics. It will only be successful if it has a broad member base and unyielding support from its constituents. I urge all media professionals to join the AMF before June 30," Scholtz said.

Further details about AMF membership can be viewed on www.amf.org.za or can be obtained from Joanne on (011) 301-1300.
