    Comsa's 4th Annual Media Conference

    The Communication Students' Association of Unisa (Comsa) will be hosting their 4th Annual Media Conference in Pretoria on 8 August 2003.

    The Communication Students' Association of Unisa (Comsa) will be hosting its 4th Annual Media Conference to be held at Unisa in Pretoria.

    This event will take place on the 08 August 2003 from 09H00 to 16H00 at the Senate Hall, 2nd Floor – Theo van Wijk Building in Unisa mai campus (Muckleneuck Ridge).

    Conference Theme: Skills, Development, Empowerment

    Ms Lyndall Shope-Mafole, the Chairperson of the Presidential National Commission will be addressing the conference on the topic: "Universal Service Agency: the development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in our communities".

    Also to address the conference is Mr Joe Thloloe, the Editor-in-chief of E-TV's E-News and his topic is: "The state of journalism in the 21st century".

    Among other speakers there will be leaders in the corporate sector especially in the communication industry and that includes Mr Mike Tissong the MD of New Africa Publications; Ms Lulama Chakela, the CEO of Urban Brew and Ms Piddy Clay, the Training Coordinator at Johnnic.

    The aim of this conference is to bring professionals in the communication industry and government sector closer to the students in order to address issues related to the communications industry (media, marketing & advertising, ITC, etc) at a more interface level.

    One other aspect of this conference is to enable the students to liaise with these professionals, in that regard, encouraging our students to establish contacts with the corporate sector so that they can create for themselves
    training and possible employment opportunities.

    Students, communication practitioners, members of the media and all of those who are interested are welcome to attend this informative conference.
