Harmony in Berlin as O'MAGE Crosses Boundaries

The 2002 Sappi International Printer of the Year Awards was presented at a glittering ceremony in Berlin during the month of October.

This prestigious event, hosted at the Axica Forum housed in the DZ Bank, was attended by printers from around the world and served to honour printing achievement from four regions, namely, North America, Africa, Europe and Trading (which encompasses Central and South America, Europe, Asia and Australasia).

'Crossing Boundaries', the central theme for the awards ceremony, was conceptualised and put into effect by O'MAGE.

The objective of the event and theme was to honour those who posses the spirit to cross boundaries, to widen perspectives, bestowed by a company that truly knows no boundaries.

To communicate the message of crossing boundaries, O'MAGE creatively staged the event around an orchestral performance of Beethoven's 6th Pastoral Symphony. The introduction of unconventional musical accompaniments including an electric guitarist, keyboardist, DJ and tap dancer served to illustrate the element of crossing boundaries in classical music.

"We bring people to a magical place every year. Berlin did not let us down. The combination of the city, its history and the magnificent and out-of-the-ordinary staging and creativity from O'MAGE made the event a great success," said André Oberholzer, Corporate Affairs and Communication Manager for Sappi Limited.

North American printing company Belk Printing was the proud winner for their work titled 'Marking Your Mark Promo Piece'.
