Dentsu buys stake in Match Hospitality
ZURICH: Dentsu announced last week that it will acquire a stake in Match Hospitaliy, the exclusive worldwide rights holder for the FIFA Hospitality Programme through 2014, from its parent company Byrom Holdings. Dentsu is one of the leading advertising and communications groups in the world and allegedly the market leader in Asia, with historical ties to FIFA and the FIFA World Cup.
"Match Hospitality is delighted to have partners on board who have long-standing successful relationships and expertise in the football marketing scene and who will, no doubt, contribute to its financial stature in the market and its overall success," said Jaime Byrom, executive chairman of Match Hospitality.
The FIFA Executive Committee appointed Match Hospitality as the worldwide exclusive rights holder for the FIFA Hospitality Programme that includes the FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa 2009 and the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, the FIFA Women's World Cup Germany 2011, the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
Match Hospitality is based in Zug, Switzerland, with offices in Zurich and Johannesburg. The shareholders of Match Hospitality are Byrom Holdings, Infront Sports & Media and Dentsu.
