Media accreditation reminder for 2010 preliminary draw

The accreditation closing deadline is fast approaching for media representatives wishing to attend the preliminary draw for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa at the International Convention Centre Durban on 25 November 2007. Forms must be submitted by Monday, 8 October.

The accreditation process is being conducted exclusively online on the official website, https://www.fifaworldcupaccreditation.com/Acrregistration/MediaLanding.aspx. The online registration form is available in the FIFA World Cup -> Organisation -> Media Services section (www.fifa.com/worldcup/organisation/media/index.html) of the FIFA site.

A total of 350 local and international journalists and photographers are expected for the Preliminary Draw and space in the media centre is at a premium. The 2010 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee South Africa is therefore urging all media representatives who have not yet applied to urgently do so before the closing deadline, so as not to miss out on the opportunity to cover the first official 2010 FIFA World Cup event in South Africa.

Confirmation of accreditation will be issued by email from 22 October onwards. Successful applicants should print out this confirmation and produce it, together with the proof of identity (passport or national identity card) specified in their application when collecting their accreditation. International applicants are responsible for their own visas.
