Summit TV debate on empowerment in the ad industry

Empowerment is an emotive subject. Everyone has an opinion. But which of those opinions are based on facts? One of the most important debates is the differentiation - or lack thereof - between management empowerment and shareholder empowerment.

While empowerment at shareholder level is often high profile, it's also the level where empowerment starts and ends. More often than not, representation at management level remains unchanged. The advertising industry is one where allegations of window-dressing are particularly rife.

On Wednesday, 26 June 2002 at 08:30 pm Summit TV will be hosting a panel debate on these very issues. The panel will include Sibongiseni Mkhungo - Director at Inroads, Mpho Makwana - MD at Saatchi & Saatchi, and Abba Omar - Director at Meropa Communications, former Deputy CEO for GCIS and chairperson for a committee entrusted with the responsibility for transformation of the ad industry.
