Judges for South African 2015 Cinemark Young Lions competition announced

The entries for Cinemark's Young Lions competition opened on 1 April and young creatives under the age of 28 have risen to the occasion, entering themselves into one of the most esteemed and beneficial competitions in the creative industry.

The judges of the local Cinemark's Young Lions competition have been announced. This year they are Fiona O'Connor, Creative Director at Havas Worldwide Johannesburg; Andrew MacKenzie, Executive Director of Boomtown; Glynn Venter, Executive Creative Director of Haas Collective; Joanina Pastoll, ECD of Cross Colours Lowe Joburg; and Tshireletso Yvonne Diogo, Marketing Manager of Cinemark.

The local leg of the competition will see a two-man team handpicked by the judges as the winners. These two will have an opportunity to travel to the Cannes Lions Festival and represent South Africa in the Young Lions Competition, taking place between 21 and 27 June.

Entrants into the Cannes Young Lions 2015 Films Competition will have only 48 hours to film and edit a 60-second commercial. The local competition follows a similar format, where a brief will be published on 21 April at 12:00.

Teams entering for the 2015 Cinemark Young Lions competition must register for the South African competition by 21 April at http://cinemark.co.za/cannes-lions. All creatives must submit their commercial by 23 April at noon and then the judging will begin. The winners will be announced on 4 May.
