SA-designed magazine cover wins Asian SOPA Award

The South African-designed cover of the March 2006 issue of Chinese magazine The Outlook has won the award for the best front page design at the annual Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) Awards in China.

The cover design is the work of Peet Pienaar, creative director of design house Daddy Buy me a Pony, Cape Town. The magazine itself won the prize for the best Chinese magazine.

The equivalent of Wallpaper magazine, The Outlook focuses on new men, new trends and new visions.

The March 2006 issue takes a closer look at Cape Town and its design fraternity - including Daddy Buy me a Pony, Gart Walker of Orange Juice Design and the Jupiter Drawing Room Cape - as well as highlighting several other creative genres and their contribution to international and Eastern styles, trends and visions.
