Creative Project Manager

Job description

Hoopa Studio is seeking a hands-on Creative Project Manager to drive the delivery of outstanding creative work, coordinating projects from start to finish while managing and mentoring our junior creative team. You will work closely with senior leadership, and a Studio Director who will own the agency's overarching strategic vision and data-led insight, while you focus on making things happen on the ground. You’ll maintain high standards, provide structured support, and bring a balance of creative energy and organisational skill to keep both clients and team members delighted.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage creative projects—ensuring a seamless process from brief to final delivery.
• Act as the go-to manager and mentor for junior creatives, leading by example and helping to set rigorous quality standards.
• Oversee project admin, documentation, and workflow using tools like Plaky and Clockify, supporting the wider rollout of SAP Cloud tools.
• Serve as the bridge between clients, designers, and the studio team, facilitating clear communication and timely execution.
• Bring creative ideas and inspiration to each project, elevating the work and energising the team.
• Assist in preparing reports and deliverables that keep clients and studio leaders updated with accurate, actionable information.
• Support a working culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Marketing, Business, or a related field).
• 3–5 years of relevant experience, ideally from an agency or creative project management environment.
• Proficiency with project management tools, especially Plaky; strong Excel/Google Sheets abilities.
• Experienced in time-tracking/reporting tools such as Clockify; exposure to SAP/ERP systems a plus.
• Practical management, leadership, or team supervision experience.
• Valid driver’s license and an ability to travel internationally (Cape Town office based).
• Reliable attention to detail and a passion for delivering premium-quality work.
• Strong communicator - confident, empathetic, and professional with colleagues and clients.
• Organised, adaptable, and capable of guiding a creative team with a steady hand.

Additional Qualities:

• Strategically aware and data literate, but highly action-oriented - your focus is on execution and empowering your team.
• Exposure to the construction sector, specifically decorative surfaces and their associated products, and food solution FMCG product industry is an added bonus.
• Assertive yet collaborative, able to drive projects forward while building positive relationships with junior employees.
• Eager to broaden your perspective, with an interest in expanding into new markets and growing alongside the agency.
