The Grammy-nominated rapper will perform two exclusive headline shows in December, marking the launch of a new festival brand that aims to celebrate the intersection of African music, culture, fashion and global entertainment.
The tour opens at The Ostrich in Cape Town on Friday, 4 December 2026, before moving to The Canvas in Johannesburg on Saturday, 5 December 2026.
Bringing a global hip-hop heavyweight to South Africa
French Montana has established himself as one of hip-hop's biggest global stars, with billions of streams and a catalogue of chart-topping hits including Unforgettable, No Stylist, Pop That and Ain't Worried About Nothin'.
His career has also been defined by collaborations with some of the industry's biggest names, including Drake, The Weeknd, Post Malone, Cardi B, Swae Lee and Chris Brown, making him one of the most recognisable artists in contemporary hip-hop.
His South African performances are expected to attract fans from across the region as part of what organisers describe as a world-class festival experience.
Launching a new chapter in African live entertainment
AfroTrax has been created as more than a concert series. The organisers envision it as a platform that connects African creativity with international entertainment while showcasing local talent and culture.
Alongside French Montana's performances, festivalgoers can expect an immersive programme featuring leading South African artists and DJs, lifestyle activations, food vendors, premium hospitality offerings and large-scale production.
According to the organisers, AfroTrax is designed to celebrate Africa's growing influence on the global entertainment landscape while creating opportunities for collaboration between international performers and local creative communities.
"AfroTrax represents a new chapter in African live entertainment. Our vision is to build a platform that celebrates African culture while connecting audiences with some of the most influential artists in the world. Launching the brand with French Montana is a significant milestone for us and the beginning of something much bigger."
Two cities, two unique festival experiences
While both events will feature the same international headliner, each venue has been designed to deliver a distinct experience.
The Cape Town edition at The Ostrich will offer an outdoor summer festival atmosphere against one of the city's best-known event venues, while the Johannesburg event at The Canvas promises a high-energy urban entertainment experience.
Organisers have confirmed that additional artists, supporting acts, VIP experiences and hospitality packages will be announced in the coming weeks.
