Emile founded the ENVASS company in 2004 and has since been the managing Director of this consulting Group in South Africa. He holds a master's degree in project management (MSC MPM), is a qualified ISO 14001 auditor and is registered as a professional natural scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat).

Emile founded the ENVASS company in 2004 and has since been the managing Director of this consulting Group in South Africa. He holds a master's degree in project management (MSC MPM), is a qualified ISO 14001 auditor and is registered as a professional natural scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat).
With more than 25years' experience, he has been involved in several environmental studies across various phases of the project lifecycle process. His experience in environmental management includes, ISO 14001 system design and certification, Sustainability reporting, Impact studies. Mine closure assessments, environmental training, Strategic environmental assessments, environmental business plan development and risk assessments. He is also the founder of the mine closure software Li@bility ®. Emile's involvement in construction, mining, transport and agriculture have afforded him an in depth understanding of environmental issues and Risks facing development in Southern Africa.
Emile is blessed with a family, his wife Dina, daughter Rome and his son Emile (jnr). His main hobby is art-lure fishing for which he has obtained National Protea colours on 6 occasions. He has represented South Africa at four art-lure world championship events.
