New WFTGA president is from SA

Tourism minister, Derek Hanekom congratulated South African tour guide, Alushca Ritchie who was named the World Federation of Tourist Guides Associations' new president at the 17th biennial convention held in Tehran, Iran. The WFTGA president will serve a two-year term and is supported by an executive board made up of delegates from Australia, Iran, USA, Canada and UK.

Ritchie has been working as a wine specialist while managing her own tourism business and has served as the Cape Tourist Guides Association chairperson, Cape Town Tourism Board and as the Western Cape representative of the South African Travel Services Association.
