Tsogo Sun has appointed Wayne Smith as the new general manager of the Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani complex in Durban. As GM, Smith will be responsible for overseeing the 734-room seafront property, while supporting growth objectives, driving operations as well as maintaining service excellence.
He began his journey in hospitality at Drakensberg Sun Resort, where he was first employed as a switchboard operator. Over the past 20 years, he has held roles at Southern Sun Cullinan, Umhlanga Sands Resort, Garden Court Blackrock and Garden Court South Beach.
