Putco Mafani joins SAMRO

Putco Mafani, widely acknowledged for his contribution to marketing communications in sports and entertainment fields, has joined the Southern African Music Right Organisation (SAMRO).

Mafani moves into the newly created position of Marketing Communications Manager and joins SAMRO Marketing Director and Joint Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Nick Motsatse, in the Marketing Department.

Mafani was PR Manager at Kaizer Chiefs Football Club for seven years, and successfully headed the PSL Crisis Centre during and after the Ellis Park stadium disaster that shook the world of South African soccer. While at Kaizer Chiefs, he was part of a team that initiated the Kaizer Chiefs' Financial Services' joint venture with Hollard Insurance, giving birth to what is now known as Chiefs Funeral Plan, Education Plan, and Personal Accident Plan.

During his broadcasting stint Mafani was a radio announcer with various radio stations including CKI FM, Umhlobo Wenene FM, Channel Africa and was the sports editor of Kaya FM.
