Wegbreek editor appointed
Ramsay, Son & Parker has announced the appointment of Gerrit Rautenbach as editor of Wegbreek, the Afrikaans edition of Getaway.
Rautenbach brings a wealth of experience to his new position. For many years a freelance travel writer, he has had articles published in both English and Afrikaans in a wide variety of local and overseas magazines. In 1994 he published his first book, Guide to the Greatest Adventures in South Africa.
Initially involved in the advertising industry, Rautenbach won the first-ever Loerie awarded to an Afrikaans ad. He has also worked as creative director of several high profile agencies in South Africa and abroad, among them Saatchi and Saatchi, at their Saudi Arabian office.
Wegbreek, the first Afrikaans title in the RS&P stable, will be launched in July, with copies on the newsstand from 19 June.
