Beeld sports reporter wins prestigious award at the SAB Journalist of the Year Awards
Sports reporter De Jongh Borchardt of Pretoria Beeld has landed yet another coup for the regional daily newspaper. He was lauded as the Newcomer Of The Year in the Printed Media category at the annual SAB (South African Breweries) Journalist Of The Year Awards 2004.
'We are thrilled with De Jongh's accomplishment. The SAB Journalist Of The Year Award ceremonies are highly regarded in the sports journalism arena. Winning such an esteemed accolade is impressive and quantifiable proof of the enormous budding talent in the local journalism industry,' says Lucille van Niekerk, General Manager for Beeld.
Borchardt, a BA graduate, has been working as a Sports Reporter for Beeld since January 2003.
