The local Ads24 title The Noordwes Gazette has changed its name to the Midweek Potchefstroom Herald. The reason was for it to be more local and reflect the focus of the editorial content which is local news for Potchefstroom. Noordwes Gazette suggests the news would be about the entire province and the newspaper was often confused with the Northwest Independent as their names were similar.
